Writer’s Note: The Great Britain Ministry of Defence spells defense with a, “C,” not an, “S,” like is used in modern American English.
Just a mere seven weeks after France’s release of its UFO files, Great Britain’s Ministry of Defence has announced that it too will release its UFO files for the world’s perusal. UFO believers and researchers are obviously in a state of awe at the announcement.
The Ministry of Defence has not announced yet when the UFO files will be released, but it is expected to be sometime in the near future. According to the BBC reports on this issue, there will be very little censorship of the documents by the Minsitry.
These UFO sightings will include the eyewitness accounts of civilians, pilots, and military officials. There is no word as to whether or not the Ministry of Defence will include correspondence letters and emails with other governments about UFO research.
Great Britain’s UFO files date back to 1967. Great Britain was one of the last major governments of that time to begin documenting the UFO phenomenon. There have been many that have believed that Great Britain is one of the world’s hotbeds for UFO activity.
The ancient Celtic tribes had many stories of gods visiting from space. Some believe that Stonehenge may have something to do with UFO experiences. Stonehenge is regularly believed to be an ancient calendar that was used for religious purposes for the Celtic holidays.
In December of 1980 the Rendlesham Forest Incident occurred. It is considered by most of the UFO community to be Great Britain’s Roswell. According to the Ministry of Defence, the files on this incident will be included in their entirety.
It has also not been officially declared how the Ministry of Defence will be releasing these documents. If it follows France’s lead, then the files will be placed on the Internet. It is believed that the files are too extensive to be published in book form.
There are many, though, that do not believe that the release of these files will truly pacify those who are into UFO research. Many UFO researchers will not truly be satisfied until a live alien, alien remains, or an actual spacecraft are recovered. At least for the time being, these researchers can make an attempt to learn how the Ministry of Defence’s research matches theirs.
It will be interesting to see what other governments follow the lead of France, and of Great Britain’s Ministry of Defence. Many are hoping the two countries with the largest estimated UFO file collection, Russia and the United States, will soon reveal their research.
The Russian, and American governments have always been known for being more secretive with their military dealings. Also, it has been brought out in the past that part of the funding that was to go to UFO research in the past in America was actually diverted to Cold War weapons research. The United States would not want to open old wounds with a country that it is now friendly with.
